PITTSBORO - Opportunity was the big winner as golfers wrapped up the third Central Carolina 社区 大学 基金会 Chatham Golf Classic May 11 at Chapel Ridge.

A total of 18 teams played in the Classic, combining fun with the serious goal of raising funds to assist 推荐正规买球平台 students who need financial help to stay in college. The proceeds will be used primarily for scholarships. Over $15,000 was raised.

"I think the tournament was a huge success," said Jonathan Hockaday, 推荐正规买球平台 Golf Classic coordinator. "The support from the Chatham County community and businesses is what helped make this tournament what it was. We are looking forward to having this event for years to come."

The 基金会 is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization affiliated with, 但是独立于, 学院. It receives donations of money and equipment on behalf of 推荐正规买球平台 and uses them to promote the educational mission of 学院 and assist students through scholarships and grants.

自1989年以来, the 基金会 has hosted an annual Golf Classic in Lee County, raising funds for scholarships and other financial assistance for 学院's students.

In 2016, for the third year, the 基金会 has hosted two additional Golf Classics: the one in Chatham County, and one in Harnett County.

The Chatham County Golf Classic was a Four-Person Captain's Choice Flighted competition. The winners, team scores, and sponsors were:
